Western Balkans' Startups Raise Significant Seed Investments
Several startups from the Western Balkans recently raised significant seed investments that takes their businesses to another level. We present some of the most attractive stories.
Hajde raises $1M in seed investments
Hajde is Albanian fast food and grocery delivery app. The company grew exponentially in the region's app for food & drink sector attracting lots of interest among investors.
Since founding in early 2021, the startup quickly expanded to Kosovo* in October 2021.
The startup raised $1M in seed investment to expand to restaurant deliveries in Albania. In addition, the funding will power Hajde's expansion to the neighbouring North Macedonia after Albania and Kosovo*.
Last year, Hajde took part in the Uplift, an early-stage startup accelerator program for promising startups from Albania, Kosovo* and North Macedonia.
Sounder third seed investment round
Sounder is a Serbia-founded end-to-end podcast management and monetization platform recognised in the global podcast market. Since founding in 2019, the platform featured millions of streams and thousands shows in tens of languages around the world.
The company closed three rounds of financing within the last two years. Most recently, the startup raised $7.7M in Series A funding adding to a total funding of $11.55M million. Previously, Sounder raised seed investments in two rounds. Firstly, in 2020 a $1.8m seed financing round, followed by last year's $2.15M follow-on in seed funding.
Tenderly's Series B investment
Tenderly is a Smart Contract monitoring platform that assists blockchain developers significantly improve development speed and workflow. Four friends from Serbia founded the startup in 2018 to offer a suite of Smart Contract.
Some of these include search and filter for blockchain transactions across all Smart Contracts in a single view, debugging transactions, Smart Contract monitoring, configuring real-time notifications, Smart Contract analytics, etc.
The startup raised in February 2022 $40m in Series B funding which adds to a total of investment of $58.6m since the beginning. The recent investment is aimed at boosting product offerings, attracting new customers and partners, and accelerating technical and sales hiring.
Tenderly raised $15.3M in Series A funding mid-2021 to accelerate blockchain product development and improve the user experience.
Rolla secures Series A funding
Rolla is a fitness app founded in 2019 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The app keeps track of users' health metrics and physical activities while having fun in virtual reality.
The startup created a virtual environment for joggers and cyclists to enjoy breathtaking experience of nature while running or cycling from the comfort of home. Rolla is a 2in1 concept.
The Rolla One mobile app is designed to tracks the user's daily fitness-related metrics and provides health insights. The Rolla World is a social fitness game for indoor jogging and cycling that enables its users to work out and compete in a virtual world.
Rolla raised 1.6m Euro in Series A funding round from two investors. The funds will assist the further development of the social fitness platform and team expansion.
