Balkathon empowers young innovators to turn their ideas into impactful solutions, fostering collaboration and real-life change in the Western Balkans.

The competition aims to optimize digital transformation in the Western Balkans region. 

Your ideas should optimize digital transformation and be business-oriented. Balkathon welcomes applications from AI-based entrepreneurship, e-services, blockchain, cybersecurity, etc.

Eligibility and Participation:

• Teams composed of individuals up to 35 years old from the Western Balkans can participate.
• High school teams are also encouraged to apply.
• Participants can register only as a team, and teams can be composed of members residing in more than one Western Balkan economy.
• Teams competing for the main award should include qualified individuals such as students, legal entities (start-ups), and non-governmental/educational institutions.

What's in it for you?

The competition can potentially assist your growth in several ways: 

• Six best ideas from the Western Balkan economies receive €7,000 each.
• Two best ideas by high school students receive €4,000 each.
• High school students also compete for special recognition awards.
• Winners get to present their ideas at the Western Balkans Digital Summit.
• Participants have the opportunity to meet business sector representatives from the region.
• Professional mentors (experts in innovation, ICT, and development) guide a two-day mentoring program.
